Midwife means "with woman," and as such I feel that my presence
is not to direct you in your care and choices, but instead to
walk beside you on your journey. Whether I am checking your
blood pressure, feeling the baby's position, listening to your
baby's heartbeat, educating you on herbs and homeopathy for
natural health, or going over optimal nutrition with you, I want
you to feel free to ask questions, learn, question some more,
and be in charge of your experience. I feel it is a great honor
to serve birthing women and to bear witness to the unique
transformation that each family makes during this special time.
In addition to catching babies
and caring for families, I also currently serve as President of
the North Texas Midwives Association, and have served in the
past as a Regional Director for the DFW area (region 5) on the
Association of Texas Midwives Board. I believe being involved in
local, state and national midwifery matters is an important part
of supporting birth options for women.
I live in the North Dallas area with my wonderful husband and
our boys. I enjoy spending time volunteering at my children's
school, sharing good meals and conversations with friends and
family, and enjoying the life that is being a mother, wife and
midwife.
